Open Data: the Eldorado of public sector information

A strategic plan for the development of public sector information will be completed at the end of 2010 in France. Worldwide, governments and civil societies are already expecting a lot from the open data and public sector information reuse projects. The massive and permanent access to the Internet and its communication tools have dramatically changed the traditional concept of privacy. A new form of intimacy rises : it is now consciously exposed on the Web. How will the problems of the protection, the sharing and the property of personal data evolve ? Do the concepts of anonymity and “right-to-be-forgotten” make sense on the Internet ? What control can an Internet user keep on his private data?
